resumed my weekend 'probation' driving after not driving for two weeks. guess wad i did....

a full lock to the left reverse out of parking lot, without releasing the handbrake! and i was wondering where the weird sound came from.............. ooooooops *sayang daddy's car*
anyhow, fun to be driving again. feel that im still improving (i.e. still got room for improvement), theres still things to learn and more advanced techniques to grasp.. eg dropping gear to increase power and overtake, negotiating narrow winding multistorey carparks, building up confidence in lane changing at tight spots, etc etc. fun to be driving manual car tho really cognitively challenging when theres too many things to take note of and do at the same time (e.g. change gear, signal, turn, check blindspots, control spd, control clutch, note pedestrians all at same time).
went cycling with the bf on sat evening..... have nt cycled for a long time, maybe a yr? gosh.. while i was at it, i thought to myself - driving seems much easier, mainly cos of the exclusive use of road.. whereas cyclists hv to share with pedestrians so v 'choking' sometimes.
we cycled to this vast open area near my place (actually not very near but still within woodlands) and by that time the sun has already set and darkness loomed the place 'cept for the distant orange lights on the road. bf had always wanted to fly kite (literally) as he didnt hv the chance to when he was a kid, and this was a rare evening where the weather was fine and there was actually some wind. after several less-than-promising attempts, the kite finally flew high, stretching the height of all of its string........ like wowww (: we had a great time. it was memorable. im glad we took our butts out of the house!
